Inside Out is a 2015 animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The movie tells the story of an 11-year-old girl named Riley, who is forced to move from her hometown of Minnesota to San Francisco with her parents.
The unique aspect of the movie is that it is told from the perspective of Riley's emotions: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust. The emotions are depicted as distinct characters living inside Riley's mind and controlling her actions and decisions.
When Riley struggles to adjust to her new life in San Francisco, Joy and Sadness are accidentally sucked out of headquarters and sent deep into Riley's long-term memory. The two emotions must work together to find their way back to headquarters while Fear, Anger, and Disgust struggle to control Riley's behavior without them.
